Dr. Alok Gupta completed his MBBS and MD Pathology from Christian Medical College (CMC) Ludhiana – one of India’s most competitive and respected medical institutions. This rigorous training gave him specialist-level proficiency across haematology, histopathology, microbiology and molecular diagnostics.
After post-graduation, he joined PGIMER Chandigarh for his Senior Residency, where he worked on the most complex diagnostic cases in North India. Subsequently, he gained large-scale laboratory management experience at Apollo Hospitals and Vimta Labs before founding Altus Lab in 2013.

What Is the FRAT Test (Folic Receptor Antibody Test)?
The Folic Receptor Antibody Test — commonly called the FRAT Test — is a specialised blood test that detects autoantibodies directed against folate receptors in the brain. When these autoantibodies are present, they can block folate transport to the brain, leading to a condition known as Cerebral Folate Deficiency (CFD).
